Chemical Peels

Hydrated and smoother skin with improved tone

Remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells so that a smoother, more evenly pigmented, glowing layer of skin can appear.

At Hill Street Clinic we offer a range of peels with a diverse combination of acids and other ingredients including glycolic acid, salicylic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), retinoic acid and phenol. The choice will always be tailored to your individual requirements. Our Hill Street Clinic Signature Neck and Décolletage Peel proves to be very popular amongst our patients with amazing results.

Superficial and medium-depth peels that are designed to rejuvenate your skin by gently exfoliating (or lifting off) the upper layer of the skin in a controlled way, encouraging skin to rejuvenate for a fresher, younger looking appearance.

Superficial (gentle) peels are typically carried out as a course and are often referred to in the press as “lunch-time” peels as they are fast and convenient, taking about 30 minutes and need virtually no recovery time and no anaesthetic cream is required. You can be back to your normal daily routine immediately afterwards.

Superficial peels are recommended for early signs of sun damage and for boosting collagen production. They also help to reduce fine lines, open pores, as well as reduce pigmentation and freckles. A course of superficial peels can be repeated once or twice a year to keep your skin in good condition and to protect against skin aging.

A medium-depth peel with TCA (trichloroacetic acid) goes slightly deeper into the skin for a faster and more dramatic result. There is a bit more redness and peeling and you would require to take a few days off from work or your normal social activities to recover.

Medical skin peels with TCA are used to treat ageing skin, acne, sun damage and to give the skin a younger, fresher appearance. TCA peels are not beauty treatments, they are medical aesthetic procedures with the potential for adverse side-effects.

Chemical Peel
Before and After Chemical Peel

Preparation is the key to success! You can’t just decide to have a TCA chemical peel. You have to allow time for your skin to be prepared with skin care. For any chemical peel to be successful and, to reduce possible side-effects, you will have to use specific creams given to you by your practitioner for several weeks before the actual procedure.

A single peel is usually all that is required although this can be repeated whenever necessary.

The final results of TCA peels will be seen over a period of two to six months post-treatment, during which time the skin will continue to produce new collagen and elastic fibers and as a result, will become more youthful in structure, firmer and more elastic.

TCA Peeling can be repeated every one to two years as an effective anti-aging treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many treatments will I need?

The Hill Street Clinic Signature Peels for face, neck and décolletage are single session treatments with permanent results. Peels can be done once a year as the results are cumulative.

Does the Hill Street Clinic Signature Peel hurt?

Our peels contain a blend of ingredients and the phenol component allows for a comfortable experience.

How severe is the peeling and what is the duration of the peeling process?

The amount of peeling skin associated with the Hill Street Clinic Signature Peels is mainly a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis skin that begins around day three and generally is completed by day six or seven.

The neck area is easy to hide wearing a scarf or polo neck.

What will I look like during Hill Street Clinic Signature Peel process and post peel?

Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will either appear red, like a sunburn, or darker. On day three peeling will begin. The home care moisturiser will reduce the visibility of peeling by hydrating. By day six or seven the peeling process should be complete and the results are visibly astonishing.

Will my daily routine be affected after the treatment?

Normal activities may be resumed immediately post peel. We only recommend avoiding heavy exercise and excessive sweating during the peeling process.

Can makeup be worn post peel?

The day the peel is applied the patient should not put any make up or other products on his or her face post peel. Make up may be worn on day 2 of the peeling process.

What else can I do with this treatment?

Ultherapy can be carried out before or after a medical face peel to tighten the underlying SMAS layer. Together they create the most complete non-surgical facelifting effect.

Profhilo will enhance the medical face peel result even further by providing internal hydration and the Nefertiti neck lift with Botulinum toxin will relax the underlying muscle layer to give a smoother jawline.
